A is for Adorable

Our Grandlittles live in Ireland now.

Yeah.

I am sooooo not talking about it.

They are far, far, far away.

Far.

Far.

FARRRRRRRRR.

Away.

That particular fact is soooo NOT adorable.

However.

This little story is.

I decided to make Mo, the youngest one, a nightgown.

She informed me on face-time recently that the last one I made her was getting small.

I told her it wasn't the nightgown getting small...it was her getting big.

GULP.

(did I mention they live far, far, far away now...sniff, sniff)

I told her I would make her a new nightgown.

I asked her Mom for measurements.

She started texting some my way.  Waist.   Belly.  Length.

Then I got a text that read:

3"

Hmmm.

"Three inches?"  I wondered to myself.

What could possibly measure 3"?

I sent a text back for clarification.

"Smile is 3 inches..." was the text reply from our daughter-in-law...

"When she thinks of you."

A three inch smile when she thinks of her Grandma?

Awwww.

Awwwww.

See?

I told you it was adorable.

Oh, that is so hard to have grandkids so far away - can't even imagine...

Aaaahhhh. That is adorable. I know what it is to have grandkids far away. Every other day I think of going home then my depression sets in. Thank goodness for Skype. Austin, the baby, stills knows me and chews on the I-pad as I talk to him. He cries when his mother takes it away. Don't know if it is me he doesn't want to give up or his chew toy? Glad you're making a nightgown for your granddaughter. Make it flannel xo Jenny

Awww. I feel for you. I've had the grands live far, far away for 5 yrs and it was tough. They did look forward to parcels in the mail. It was before facetime or anything of that nature and that is how I stayed in touch.

It seems that you are feeling better if you are able to complain that your grandlittles are living so far, lol (3 inches !)

Maybe a visit from those adorable children would be a good thing for an ailing grandma?

just sayin...

That grandlittle of yours is ADORABLE! Kids have a way of growing up on you when you aren't looking. Make her a cap and tell her to not take it off. Maybe, that will keep her small a little longer. At least that's what I wanted for mine. :D

That's the same 3" I get when checking in on FaceTime or coming up the escalator into baggage claim - grandgirls waiting with hugs and smiles. Nuthin' like it.
